I just want to say a big well done to everyone for their efforts with our first week of home learning! I've been really pleased with the work I've been sent, in particular the photos of the Anglo-Saxon villages you have made. Please remember that it is important, and expected, that you engage with the home learning during this period. Stay safe and have a great weekend!
I'm writing this in the classroom at the end of the day when all of the children have gone and the classroom is quiet (and tidy!) The end of term seemed an awfully long way away but suddenly it's here and I hope we can all enjoy a bit of a break. Thank you to the children who have worked incredibly hard this term, under unusual circumstances, and thank you to all parents and carers who have supported their children in numerous ways. We'll be back before we know it but until then, all that's left is to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2021!
We've had a lovely week in Ash Class this week and we're beginning to feel very festive!
In English, we have finished our reports titled 'The Perils of Mt Etna'. Maths has been full of times tables this week, particularly focusing on the 9 times table and 7 times table. Spellings this week: Choose 10 words from the word list to learn for next week. Have a great weekend. Miss Radbourne. I have been really proud of the children this week for how well they have all handled the assessments we've been doing. No-one has complained and they have all taken it in their stride. Well done, Ash!
We are enjoying the countdown to Christmas with a virtual advent calendar every morning which gives us a Christmas riddle to solve. This will continue until the holidays and has been a great way to kick start those brains first thing! https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/communication-5911 It's the end of another week! Once again, the children in Ash Class have worked hard throughout the week in all of their learning. In Maths, they've been learning how to use the column method for subtraction, with and without exchanging. In English, they have written some lovely poems about Autumn. In R.E., they have learnt all about Christianity and the Holy Trinity.
We've been back in school for 7 weeks now and how quickly they seem to have flown by. I'm not setting spellings or homework over half term but please keep reading and playing on Times Table Rockstars (practising them offline too of course). All of the children in Ash Class should be proud of how well they have settled into the new routines and the new school year. Our Year 4 bubble has become one full of smiles and laughter, lots of hard work and plenty of fun. Also lots of hand sanitiser! I hope everyone enjoys a well-earned rest over the half term and I'll see you all back in school on Monday 2nd November ready to start learning again. Best wishes, Miss Radbourne. |
