Happy Friday everyone.
We are at the end of what has been a very busy week for the children - lots of sport this week, including a visit from OCRA to hold the Quad Kids event. I have been really pleased with the effort that Ash class have put into this, there are some talented runners, throwers and jumpers in year 4. Also this week... we have been working hard on our English writing task of writing in role as an evacuee. The children have really used the skill of empathy to put themselves in the mindset of somebody being evacuated and the emotions that they would be experiencing. Their writing has been truly powerful to read. On Monday, the class looked at Human Anatomy in Science, explored healthy lifestyles in PSHE, worked on our athletics skills in P.E. and showed off our reading skills when exploring our new class book Poems from a Green and Blue Planet, a beautiful class photo on Thursday morning - look out for the order form, it's coming soon and finally, created some very colourful kites in readiness for Rainbow Day on the 5th of July As always, please read with and practise times tables with your children, the Maths home learning sheet will be out on Monday, as will spellings. Please practise, sing, talk about and chant times tables as often as you can as this makes such a difference to our children's fluency and ability to solve problems quickly. Next week, we have a busy week, with P.E. on Wednesday but not on Friday, as we have a non-pupil day. We will continue to explore our excellent English text The Lion and the Unicorn and Mrs Nuthall will continue our Geography topic of Natural resources and our Science topic of Human Anatomy. Don't forget that next weekend (Saturday 29th June), sees our PTA - FONTS presenting FONTs Fest. This will be a brilliant community event, with lots of activities and entertainment available. Please buy a ticket and come along to support FONTs as they do such an excellent job of raising vital funds to support educational experiences and projects that benefit our children. Have a great weekend, see you on Monday. Mr F Comments are closed.
